When we need to transform requests into reported speech we follow this construction:
somebody asked somebody to do something
For example 👇
Helen: "Could you open the window, please?" — Direct Speech
Helen asked me to open the window. — Indirect Speech
When we need to transform negative requests into reported speech we follow this construction:
somebody asked somebody NOT to do something
For example 👇
Helen: "Don't open the window, please." — Direct Speech
Helen asked me not to open the window. — Indirect Speech
